RIDGID Europe Hosts STEM Summer Event: “Bring Your Kids to Work Day”

At RIDGID, we are always on the run to inspire the next generation of professionals.

We believe the future of innovation starts with curiosity, and there’s no better place to spark that curiosity than at a young age. That’s why this summer our team in Sint-Truiden, Belgium, opened the doors to a group of 17 enthusiastic young minds for a full day of STEM-themed activities during our STEM Summer Day.

The event welcomed our employees’ children of various ages into our facility, where they explored the exciting world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in a fun, hands-on environment. It wasn’t just about play; it was about planting seeds of interest in fields that are shaping our world every day.

A Day of Discovery

From the moment they arrived, the children were immersed in creativity and learning. They started by designing their name tags, a small but empowering step in taking ownership of their day. The morning was filled with building challenges, where the kids combined play with fundamental engineering concepts, such as aerodynamics, force, and energy, to build their small windmills and helicopters.

After a well-deserved lunch, the group participated in a guided tour of our warehouse, which was combined with a practical activity: the kids had the opportunity to prepare delivery boxes for shipment.

Later on, one of the most touching moments came during an arts & crafts session where each child created a personalised message for their parents – a lovely thank you card.

The day ended with a fun photo shoot, capturing the smiles and pride of the young participants. It was a reminder that inspiration often begins with simply being included and encouraged.
