Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks great, but cheap quality This unit look very nice out of the box, but the auto-feed mechanics are very jerky, neurotic, and poorly designed. The clutch operation is poorly designed as well as being made of mostly plastic, don't expect this unit to last a long time. Also, the cable kinked about 5 times during it's only use, rendering the unit useless until I found another $50 cable to replace it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Purchase Bought this last weekend to clear a kitchen sink drain that clogged well beyond the trap. Pulled the trap and snaked from there and it worked perfectly. Directions were simple to follow and the auger worked perfectly. I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good machine but flawed feed grip This is a great machine for drain cleaning but there is one major flaw and that is the feed grip design. The line is fed the compressing screwed in rollers and the rollers chip or break in design. The fix is put these rollers in stores as parts.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Better explanation on use in the event cable gets stuck. Does it a lot. While this unit is nice and portable, there needs to be a better way to control the cable from getting tangled up. I have used two times and both times I had to take it apart to repair the cable. A lock on the cable is needed to prevent the cable from getting tangled up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Only had this machine for 3 months and it stopped working. Motor stopped spinning. Machine is not heavy enough to keep itself from bouncing around when running cable. Also, the reverse switch is dangerous because, it bounces around one hand needs to hold down machine, while other on cable. That task is impossible to perform when u have to try to hold down reverse switch trying to work a cable. Also the electric motor bit the dust after just 3 months of light use. Wish i could just go down to home depot where i purchased machine and get a new one, but that would be too easy wouldn't it.... just say'n...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Did not work Have had pretty good success using hand cranked snakes but this time it didn't work cleaning out my 1 1/2 pipes so rather then calling the plumber decided to try this at almost $200. Well it did not clear my blockage. There was little bit of learning curve to operate properly, bent the cable at about the 3-4 foot mark just getting through the sink drain instead of going stright to the clean out. I don't believe I used it properly. The manual leaves a lot to be desired and no real user account videos to rely upon. In the end I had to call the plumber and it only took him 5 minutes with hi more powerful Ridgid machine. I'm still not fully convinced this does what it claims. Sorry I purchased it.

By following instructions I used reverse handle but cable motor in forward and cable got caught and cable got bent. Have to get a new cable. Called to get fixed and found out cable not warranted. Was told to manually put cable in reel, not to use book.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great idea, problems with cheap parts. Great customer service I had the unit for a few days before it broke. There are some small bearings that came from China that broke but Rigid after a few emails decided to mail me the parts. That was a day or two ago and they have not come yet but I am very optimistic that they will send the parts. Would recommend the tool.

I bought this unit not having any previous experience with snakes; but it's so easy to use that, with a little reading, I was able to solve my issue (clogged kitchen drain). Great craftsmanship and quality controls! Looking forward to puschasing my next Ridgid brand product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This machine is amazing I bought this machine for a drain issue that we had in a residential setting. The machine performed very well. I was used to using the hand crank style of drain augers and this was a world apart from that. You have to pay attention when using it. There are multiple tasks that you are performing: Pressing the foot pedal, feeding the auger into the pipe etc. I did get the unit stuck and it bound up and twisted the cable. The cable is larger than the ones that you can get for hand models. Now the cable has to be replaced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Easy To Use It runs smoothly and I like the fact that you put it into the drain and back it out both with the machine in forward. All you have to do is depress the forward or backward auto feed levers on the guide hose. No switching the motor back and forth really speeds things up.The guide hoses are also nice to help keep the cable from twisting while also protecting what is near the cable from being damaged, as a bathtub or cabinet. I've used up to 7/8" cable sewer machines, and this is a great "sink machine" for up to 1 1/2" drains.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little machine for bathroom tubs & sinks! You can't go wrong for the price of this little guy. Especially great for 1 1/4" lines making those tight turns. You do have to be careful when encountering the blockage as to not force the cable as it will flip in the drum. Slow and easy, do not torque up keep the cable spinning. Has a nice drain hole on the bottom and does not rooster tail water after multiple uses.
