First Lego League, a STEM activity on the highest level

First Lego League is an international event which introduces STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education to more than 200,000 young school students from all over the world. 

We always encourage young students to explore and develop, from an early age, their technical skills and talent. Therefore, during the past years, RIDGID has been one of the main sponsors of the First Lego League Challenge in Belgium. 

This year we supported HASP-O, a school in Sint-Truiden, Limburg area. Four teams represented the school with cool projects they worked on in classrooms over the past few months. It was the first time they participated in the regional final, and they did an amazing job, succeeding to get in the top 3 rankings in different categories.

During this two-day event more than 600 students, from different schools, came to our booth and got the chance to discover and test our tools. They all left with an exclusive ‘RIDGID good IDEA’ gift in their hands and a big smile on their face.

Race to the Future, a competition to go up, up, up

‘Race to the Future’ is for young adults what ‘First Lego League’ is for young students.

This event is organised yearly by Young and Strong, an organization that offers inspiring programs with activities for young daredevils and doers from all over Flanders, Belgium.

Through their activities, Race to the future focuses on 3 essential areas: leadership & entrepreneurship, creativity and technology. This year the race was held on the 13th of May, near the Corda Campus in Hasselt.

Several teams used teamwork and creativity to build their favourite race car in a toy format. RIDGID sponsored this event and, during the award ceremony, we were honoured to hand over the cup to the winner.

It's always so exciting to see the passion and dedication in the eyes of young students. They are fearless, ready to tackle every challenge and, after all, they are the ones building the world of tomorrow.
